Battle of the Bands in Baltimore Issues Invite

Sound Off Live! website

BALTIMORE (AP) - Officials are looking for bands who want to play at three Baltimore festivals next year.

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts says interested bands have to submit an application no later than Aug. 15.

Auditions will be held on Oct. 18 and 19. During the auditions, called "Sound Off Live!," bands will get 15 minutes to perform three songs in front of an audience and a panel of judges.

The winning bands will get a performance slot at one of three festivals in 2018: Light City, Artscape or the Baltimore Book Festival. Only bands and musicians from the Maryland, Delaware and Virginia region that have never been booked at the festivals are eligible to apply.

More information is on the Office of Promotion & the Arts' website.
