A man who had barricaded himself in his mother’s home with a rifle in Crisfield surrendered to police mid-afternoon  yesterday.

32 year old Jamie Coulbourne was led away from his home after a three hour standoff with police.

During the standoff WBOC reports that Coulbourne fired a rifle outside a rear window toward two troopers at around 11:30 a.m.

No one was hit.

WBOC reports that he came out the front door but refused to comply with police instructions.

A trooper then fired a less lethal round causing him to stumble.

Businesses and homes around the area were evacuated as a precaution.

His father Ronnie Coulbourne told the Salisbury Daily Times that his son had a drug problem.

He had been scheduled to go to a rehab center yesterday.

Coulbourne’s mother had been in the house but left before the standoff began.

Jamie Coulbourne has been charged with attempted first-degree murder among other charges.
