Audience Divided on Plans for Medical Marijuana Facility Near Hebron

creative commons

The medical marijuana company that wants to build a 40-thousand square foot facility near Hebron got their first public input last night.

During a public meeting at the Black Diamond Lodge in Fruitland local residents expressed both support and opposition to the plans by BioCannatix based in Upper Marlboro.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that some the neighbors were concerned about how much water it would consume and the security of the facility.

The paper reports that when the audience of around 80 was asked whether they supported the facility around half raised their hands.

The facility would be hidden by trees on 33 acres of land at the corner of Log Cabin Road and Memory Gardens Lane.

Maryland is offering up 15 applications for companies to make and dispense medical marijuana.
