LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) - More than 200 new jobs are coming to Maryland over the next three years as the result of a solar power company's expansion.

Officials with Astrum Solar on Tuesday announced plans to triple its 14,400 square-foot facility in Howard County, and add 240 new jobs by 2017.

Astrum Solar Vice President Cory Byzewski said the company was committed to helping the state through job creation as well as through the environmental and financial benefits of solar power.

Astrum Solar provides solar service to residents and businesses. It's headquartered in Annapolis Junction and has locations across the country.

Officials said the company plans to invest $750,000 to upgrade and improve the facility.
