Assaults Near Salisbury University Cause Student Concerns

Salisbury University website

There have been three recent assaults near the campus of Salisbury University.

And while the police have made arrests there is some unease among students.

The assaults range from an incident in a student neighborhood known as The Zoo to two attacks on Sunday in the Bateman Street area across from Route 13.

In those two incidents the victim was punched.

WBOC reports that the university has sent out an email notifying students of the assaults with recommendations on how to avoid being a victim.

The Student Affairs Department also issued a statement expressing concern about the recent incidents and urging students to work with the campus security and counseling resources.

In addition, the campus police are working with the Salisbury Police which has increased its patrols while looking at surveillance video for additional charges.
