Criminal charges have been filed against a suspect, who alleged shot a Wicomico County deputy on Wednesday.
Maryland State Police say 22-year-old Tavone A. Dobson, of Cambridge, faces seven charges, including attempted first degree murder, first degree assault, and assault on a law enforcement officer.
On Wednesday morning, Wicomico County Sheriff’s Deputy Thomas Funk was serving on a U.S. Marshall’s Task Force, and he attempted serve Dobson with eight outstanding arrest warrants at a Cambridge home.
Deputy Funk was shot in the arm, and Dobson barricaded himself inside the house for two hours, before surrendering to police.
Dobson was incarcerated without bond in the Dorchester County Detention Center. Funk underwent surgery and has been released from Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
The investigation is continuing.
