Anthony Brown to Announce Running Mate in Bid for MD Governorship
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown plans to announce his choice of a running mate in his bid for the Democratic nomination for governor.
Brown's campaign scheduled an event for Monday in Columbia to announce the selection. He will announce his choice in Howard County where County Executive Ken Ulman has also said he was considering a run for governor in 2014.
The 51-year-old Brown announced his candidacy earlier this month. He hopes to be Maryland's first lieutenant governor to be elected governor.
The 39-year-old Ulman was elected county executive in 2006. According to his website, he was the youngest person elected county executive in Maryland at 32 years old. He was re-elected in 2010.
Ulman is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, and Georgetown University Law Center.
