Delaware state senator Bethany Hall-Long has decided to make a run for Lt. Governor.

The Middletown Democrat filed papers yesterday adding another name to the already crowded field for a primary that is still a year away.

Hall-Long is a nursing professor at the University of Delaware.

She told the Wilmington News Journal that she made the decision after getting numerous calls for her to make a stab at the Lt. Governor’s office.

Currently the position is vacant after Matt Denn became the state attorney general.

Hall-Long has been in the state senator for the last seven years and before that in the House of Representatives starting in 2003.
