ALDI Discount Chain Comes to Delaware

ALDI Website

The ALDI discount grocery store chain is coming to Delaware.

It will open up its first stores this Thursday in Middletown and Camden.

WBOC reports that before this the chain had nearly 16-hundred stores in 34 states.

There will be ribbon cutting ceremonies this week with the first 100 shoppers at each store getting gift cards of varying amounts.

There will also be tour of the stores as well as an on-site sweepstakes for a year’s supply of ALDI produce.

The television station reports that among the efficiencies that the chain employs are a small store footprint and open carton displays.

The stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

On Sunday they will close one hour early at 8 p.m.
