$8 Million Harassment Suit Filed Against Berlin Fire Company

Berlin Fire Company

Zachery Tyndall, a former paramedic with the Berlin Fire Company is suing them for $8 million alleging harassment and discrimination in U.S. District Court.

His lawsuit names his former employer and four individual members of the fire company as defendants.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that court documents charge that the defendants believed that Tyndall was gay and repeatedly called him homosexual slurs.

In addition, it alleges that they refused to help Tyndall assist a car accident victim in December of last year.

Tyndall was fired early this year without being told why and is seeking $2 million in compensatory damages and $6 million in punitive damages.

The paper says that Berlin Fire Company President David Fitzgerald did not return a call seeking comment on the story.
