26th Annual Coastal Clean Up Set for September 15th

On September 15th coastal residents are will be invited to help clean up the beaches.

David Small with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control said that people can take part from 9 am to noon.

This will be the 26th year for the event that will stretch 97 miles along the Delaware Coast.

There will be more than 40 locations in the state along with sites in Maryland ranging from Pocomoke River and Nassawango Creek to Ocean City and Assateague Island.  

Last year in Delaware there were more than 22-hundred volunteers who picked up more than 10 tons of trash.

This included 14 appliances a bicycle and a portable toilet.
