14 Flu Cases Reported In Delaware

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Public health officials say 14 cases of flu have been confirmed in Delaware this this flu season, with five patients requiring hospitalization.

The Division of Public Health reports this week that all the patients who were hospitalized were over age 65; several had underlying health conditions.

The News Journal reports that as of Nov. 11, six cases were confirmed in Kent County; five in New Castle County and three in Sussex County.

Health officials say last season, 4,590 cases of flu were reported in Delaware. Fifteen people died from the flu.

The Division of Public Health offers flu shots at clinics throughout the state.
