$11.7 Million for Highway Safety in Maryland

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced that $11.7 million will be allocated in federal highway funds to increase highway safety.

The funds will be handed out to 90 agencies and organizations across the state aimed at cutting down on crashes and related injuries and deaths.

WBOC reports that the money will be handed out by the state Highway Safety Office.

Among the local recipients are the Wicomico County Sheriff’s office which will get $10,500 while the Worcester County Sheriff’s office will receive $2-thousand.

The Ocean City Police Department will receive just over $27-thousand while Ocean Pine will get around $17-hundred.

The Salisbury Police Department will pick up $20-thousnd while the Somerset County Sheriff’s office will receive $2-thousand.
