Tom Hehman

Volunteer Classical Music Host

Tom Hehman studied music education and performance at Carnegie-Mellon University but graduated with a degree in history and pursued a career in library work.

He continued to perform as an amateur trumpet and cornet player over the years.  He became a volunteer classical music announcer at WSCL just before he retired as Director of the Wicomico Public Library in 2011.  He also began to take trumpet lessons and attend master classes with euphonium virtuoso Adam Frey, trumpeters Rodney Mack and Wynton Marsalis  and others.

He currently performs with the Salisbury Community Band,  the Salisbury University Pops, the Salisbury University Commencement Brass Choir and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Jazz Band and others.
