Amy Roe en Newark Swears In New Mayor <p>BALTIMORE (AP) - A new mayor has taken office in Newark.</p><p>Polly Sierer was sworn in Tuesday following a contested election. She replaces Vance A. (AP) - Polly Sierer has won a special mayoral election in Newark with 41 percent of the vote.</p><p>Sierer beat six other candidates Tuesday in the city's first contested mayoral race since 2007.</p><p>According to unofficial returns, the bulk of the votes went to Sierer with 1,506 votes and Amy Roe with 1,391 votes, or 38 percent.
