(AP) - Maryland had a 33 percent increase in drug overdose deaths in the first quarter of this year.</p><p>The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene released a new report on Thursday that shows the increase over the same period last year is being driven by fentanyl-laced heroin.</p><p>The report says there were 252 total drug overdose deaths from January to March, and 148 are related to heroin.</p><p>The state also has seen a big increase in heroin-related emergency department visits in recent years. He graduated from the academy in 1981. Carter also is a graduate of the Navy Fighter Weapons School, Top Gun.</p><p>He has commanded the Enterprise Carrier Strike Group 12. He also was commander of the USS Carl Vinson, one of the Navy's largest nuclear-powered super carriers. (AP) - Authorities say a 241-year-old church on the National Register of Historic Places has been ravaged by fire in Maryland.</p><p>Oliver J. Alkire, senior deputy state fire marshal, said in a news release that the fire was reported at St. Paul's Episcopal Church just before midday Tuesday. Officials say nearly 100 firefighters from Maryland and Delaware fought the flames.</p><p>No injuries were reported.</p><p>The Rev.
